Terms of service

Draft for review. This document has not been finalised and may change before launch.

Last updated 29 October 2026

These terms are an agreement between you and Flowershift Pty Ltd (“we”, “us”). They apply when you create an account or use Compress, including its SDK, command line tool, codecs, dashboard or API (the “Service”). If you use the Service for a business, you agree on behalf of that business.

1. The Service

The Service compresses and decompresses data you choose, in our cloud, in yours or on your own hardware. The features, deployment and fees that apply to you are set out in your order form.

2. Check what matters

Lossy modes change your data within the error bound you set; choosing a bound that suits your use is up to you. Use the verification report that comes with each file, and keep originals of anything you can’t afford to lose until you’ve checked the compressed copies. Don’t use lossy modes for data where any change could affect safety, life or property.

3. Your account

  • You must give accurate details and keep your sign-in secure.
  • You are responsible for what happens under your account and for the people you invite to it.

4. Fees and payment

  • You are billed as set out in your order form.
  • Prices are in Australian dollars and include GST.
  • If a payment fails and isn’t fixed after reminders, we may suspend the Service until it is paid.
  • Fees are not refundable except where required by law, including the Australian Consumer Law.

5. Acceptable use

Don’t misuse the Service. That includes trying to break or overload it, getting around usage limits, scraping or reselling our data without a written agreement, or using it for anything unlawful.

6. Your data and ours

You own the data you compress and the files the Service produces from it. We own the Service, including the codecs and models. We don’t use your data to train our codecs without your written agreement. Our privacy policy explains how we handle personal information.

7. Changes and availability

We work to keep the Service available, but don’t guarantee it will be uninterrupted or error-free. We may change features. If we make a change that significantly reduces what you’ve paid for, we’ll tell you in advance.

8. Ending your use

You can stop using the Service and close your account at any time. We may suspend or close accounts that breach these terms. You can export your data before closing.

9. Liability

Nothing in these terms excludes rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law. To the extent the law allows, we aren’t liable for indirect or consequential loss, including loss caused by data you chose to compress lossily, and our total liability is limited to the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. If a change is significant, we’ll email account owners at least 30 days before it takes effect.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia.
